Sri Lanka conducted its first Presidential Elections since the previously elected government was overthrown by public protest in March 2022. It was a fairly peaceful voting day without any undue incident. Upon poll counting, Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayaka was declared with the winning count and was sworn in as President of Sri Lanka on September 23rd, 2024.
