Today we are launching a campaign with our brothers and sisters in Nepal who are working in the flood ravaged communities, particularly Trishuli Bazaar of Nepal, one of the hardest hit areas as residents struggle to rebuild their lives. We urge you to give generously to help fund their immediate and long term compassionate action.
Sarvodaya has decades of experience in responding to humanitarian emergencies in ways that build on the dignity and self-reliance of those most immediately affected as people struggle to rebuild their lives.
Sarovdaya Nepal volunteers are already working in partnership with the Ehipassiko Buddhist Foundation–Nepal in the flood devastated area. The Foundation is duly registered with Nepal’s Social Welfare Council. You may have read that the government has permitted only a few foreign specialists into the relief work, but our volunteers are all local.
Our Sarvodaya-Nepal team is led by Surendra Man Shakya. His hometown is one of the worst hit from this flood and the entire town has been wiped out along with the Buddhist Monastery. Luckily they found the monk was alive and safe but others are still missing.
We promise that 100% of your contributions will go directly to Nepal for these relief and reconstruction efforts. We will keep you informed of their progress.
